Education at St John's

In addition to our active Sunday School, we offer educational opportunities for all ages and stages.

We have an Adult Education series offered this Advent: Mark's Gospel. This, the shortest of the canonical gospels, is marked by the urgency of it's message.

Topics:
December 3: God's Urgent Summons
How does the language of Mark's gospel convey the life-changing significance of its message?
December 10: Mark's Spiritual Vision
What is Mark's spiritual vision - the change we are meant to anticipate?

Gathering in the Loring Room at 10 am.

December 17: An Advent Quiet Day, led by Sr Kristina Frances, SSM
9:30 - Noon
Take just two and a half hours in the rush of preparations for Christmas to reflect, to pray, and to find God's quiet presence in your life. An opening meditation offered by Sr Kristina Frances of the Society of Saint Margaret will begin a quiet period of two hours here at St John's. A simple lunch will be served for those wishing to remain in fellowship. All are welcome, no experience of quiet is required.

A class is preparing young people for confirmation.

Our book group is currently reading "The Scalpel and the Silver Bear" by Lori Alford. We will meet to discuss at 7:30 pm on December 7.
